ABOUT

‘The Perpetual Foreigner’ is a personal project where I explore my identity as an Asian-American. This series helped express my thoughts and feelings of chaos of having to fit in both cultures of being Chinese, and being an American. I was raised with two polar opposite traditions, where I find it a struggle to mix the both. I use techniques such digital and analog photography, collage and painting in order to create these final images. With this personal exploration, I aim to show that Asian Americans have many layers and intricate cultures that do not require them to choose between Asian and American and somehow we can mesh the two identities.

THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN SHOWCASED IN THE APERTURE FOUNDATION, AND HELLO TITTIE: THE 2ND ANNUAL ART SHOW FOR WOMEN.
